The Evolution of a Nomad: From Celestial Curiosity to the Perfect Capture

About Me

I am Shailesh Nakhare, a budding astrophotographer with a quest for learning and exploration. My fascination with the night sky didn’t start with a camera; it started with wonder. As a kid, I spent countless nights looking up, trying to wrap my head around the vastness of the stars. By high school, that curiosity turned into action when I got my first telescope.

For a while, I thought my path was written in the stars—literally. I toyed with the idea of pursuing a PhD in Astrophysics, but life had other plans. I realized that I didn’t want to just study the universe through data and equations; I wanted to see it. I chose to keep Astronomy as my passion rather than my profession, allowing the night sky to remain a place of escape and creativity.

From Observing to Capturing

As my admiration for the heavens grew deeper, so did my desire to share what I was seeing. That’s when I discovered Astrophotography. The transition from the eyepiece to the sensor changed everything. It turned a fleeting glance at a fuzzy patch of light into a vivid, colorful window into deep time.

My Gear & Philosophy

Today, I operate out of my dedicated backyard observatory, where I spend my nights tracking photons that have traveled millions of years to reach my lens. When I’m not at home, I’m out in the field with my mobile rigs, hunting for the darkest skies possible.

Cosmic Mosaic is my way of unravelling the cosmos—one image at a time.
